Senate District 6 is full of talent, creativity, and drive. We have the opportunity to do more than just meet today’s needs. We can build a future where prosperity, opportunity, and quality of life grow for everyone. My focus is on expanding on what works, fixing what’s broken, and creating the conditions for our communities to thrive through innovation and investment.

I believe that starting conversations with all constituents has to begin on an even playing field. For that reason, my campaign will not be accepting contributions from Corporate PACs.

Housing That Works for People

• Address the housing shortage to keep communities affordable.

• Cut red tape to build housing near jobs and transit.

• Protect tenants from skyrocketing rents.

• Build “missing middle” housing: starter homes, condos, and affordable apartments.

• Guarantee fair wages, safe conditions, and union protections for construction workers.

Infrastructure for Future Growth

• Secure funding for local governments to fix deteriorating neighborhood streets and public spaces.

• Promote and defend telework for state employees.

• Expand and modernize California’s electrical grid for reliability and security.

• Restore and expand funding for clean energy projects to stabilize power bills and ensure long-term energy security and independence.

Healthcare That Covers Everyone

As we continue the fight for Medicare for All on the federal level, I will also fight for CalCare on the state level, ensuring all residents of California have healthcare. CalCare will prevent families from facing bankruptcy due to medical costs.

I will also:

• Oppose Medicaid cuts that harm hospitals and emergency services.

• Expand and integrate mental health services.

• Fully fund community clinics and ensure adequate staffing for nurses and doctors.

• Promote preventative care and healthy living initiatives.

World-Class Schools for Every Child

• Prepare students for a changing economy and more challenging job market.

• Ensure modern facilities, smaller class sizes, and fair teacher pay.

• Expand career technical education, pre-apprenticeships, and apprenticeships.

• Keep higher education affordable and strengthen after-school programs.

• Support teacher unions and respect collective bargaining rights.

Safe, Strong, and Resilient Communities

• Fully staff our emergency services.

• Build climate-resilient infrastructure, and improve fire mitigation.

• Lower fire insurance costs by hardening homes and improving emergency response.

• Expand community programs addressing root causes of crime.

• Invest in mental health care, addiction treatment, affordable housing, and youth programs.

Ending Homelessness with Compassion and Action

• Treat homelessness as both a moral and practical crisis.

• Fast-track transitional housing and expand mental health and addiction services.

• Scale up workforce re-entry programs connecting people to good-paying jobs.

• Balance compassion with community safety and cleanliness.

Jobs and an Economy That Works for All of Us
