Building a Better Future for Senate District 6

Senate District 6 is full of talent, creativity, and drive. We have the opportunity to do more than just meet today’s needs. We can build a future where prosperity, opportunity, and quality of life grow for everyone. My focus is on expanding on what works, fixing what’s broken, and creating the conditions for our communities to thrive through innovation and investment.

Housing That Works for People, Not Just Developers
For too long, housing has been treated like a commodity. When supply can’t keep up with demand, working families, seniors, and young people get pushed out while big developers cash in. I will fight for bold housing strategies that keep our communities affordable and livable. That means cutting red tape to build housing near jobs and transit, protecting tenants from skyrocketing rents, and filling in the “missing middle” so we have starter homes, condos, and affordable apartments, not luxury units that sit empty, waiting for a tenant that will never come. When we build housing, we must guarantee fair wages, safe conditions, and strong unions for the workers who make it possible. We need to build homes for families, not corporate landlords.

World-Class Schools for Every Child
Education is not a business; it’s an investment in our children’s future. In a rapidly changing economy, we need to give our kids the tools to thrive, not saddle them with debt or overcrowded classrooms. Artificial Intelligence is already disrupting the job market, and we cannot afford to be caught flat-footed. I will fight to make sure every student, from kindergarten to career training, has access to excellent schools, modern facilities, and pathways to the jobs of tomorrow. That also means paying teachers a fair wage, respecting their unions, and expanding after-school programs so every child has the chance to succeed.

Safe, Strong, and Resilient Communities
Public safety is more than policing, it’s the infrastructure of trust, prevention, and preparedness. That’s why I’ll fight for fully staffed emergency services, climate-resilient infrastructure, and expanded community programs that address the root causes of crime. That means mental health care, substance treatment, affordable housing, and youth programs that give people the support they need to thrive. Public safety must mean safe streets and safe lives.

Ending Homelessness with Compassion and Action
It is a moral failure that in the richest state in the richest nation on earth, thousands of people sleep on the streets every night. We can and must do better. I will push to fast-track transitional housing, scale up mental health and addiction services, and expand workforce re-entry programs that connect people with good-paying jobs. Solving homelessness means treating people with dignity while keeping our communities safe and welcoming.

Jobs and an Economy That Works for All of Us
The economy isn’t working when billionaires get tax breaks while working families struggle to pay the bills. We need an economy that rewards hard work, not corporate greed. That starts with investments in infrastructure that creates jobs right here at home. We’ll recruit and grow industries of the future like advanced manufacturing, clean tech, and biotech, while making sure workers have a share of the wealth they create. When workers thrive, communities thrive.

Healthcare as a Human Right
No one should go bankrupt because they get sick. Healthcare is a human right, not a privilege for the wealthy. While we fight for Medicare for All, I will work to expand coverage, integrate mental health services, and cut through the bureaucracy that keeps people from care. We need to protect Medicaid, fully fund community clinics, and make sure nurses and doctors have the staffing and resources to do their jobs. A just healthcare system also promotes healthy living as preventative care.

Local Leadership, People-Powered Results
Decisions should be made closest to the people they affect. I will fight for more local control over budgets, schools, and community priorities. That means empowering cities, standing with working families, and protecting the right of workers to organize and collectively bargain for fair wages and benefits. Our region has what it takes to lead California in sustainability, innovation, and quality of life.

A Future Worth Fighting For
This campaign is about building a society that works for families, not a new class of robber-barons. We need more affordable housing, good-paying union jobs, safer communities, healthcare and education for all. A future where every child has opportunity, every worker has dignity, and every senior can retire in security. Together, we can build a Senate District 6 where prosperity is shared, not hoarded.the exception.
