Senate District 6 is full of talent, creativity, and drive. We have the opportunity to do more than just meet today’s needs. My focus is on expanding on what works, fixing what’s broken, and creating the conditions for our communities to thrive through innovation and investment.

Housing that Keeps Up with Our Growth

When supply cannot keep pace with demand, prices skyrocket. I will support forward-thinking, locally guided housing strategies that make it possible for working families, seniors, and young professionals to find a home they can afford. That means streamlining the building process, incentivizing housing near jobs and transit, and encouraging diverse housing types, from starter homes to senior housing. This also means fair wages and benefits for workers who build housing in the district. Affordable homes built where it makes sense means more stability for everyone and a housing market that works for all.

World-Class Schools and Lifelong Learning

Education is the engine of opportunity and in a growing, innovation-driven economy, we must prepare our students for the jobs of tomorrow. I will work to ensure every student, from kindergarten to career training, has access to excellent programs and modern facilities. That means strong support and fair wages and benefits for teachers, pathways into high-demand fields like clean energy and technology, and after-school opportunities that set young people up for lifelong success. We will treat education as an investment and unlock every student’s potential.

Safe, Strong, and Resilient Communities

Public safety is more than policing, it’s the infrastructure of trust, prevention, and preparedness. I will back fully staffed emergency services, ensure we have resilient infrastructure that can withstand extreme weather, and expand investments in prevention: mental health care, substance treatment, and community programs that make neighborhoods safer while giving people the tools to thrive. Safety comes from both readiness and opportunity.

Solving Homelessness with Real Pathways Forward

We cannot accept a society that fails to care for the homeless. I will support a balanced, action-oriented approach: more housing, more treatment, more job support, and the accountability necessary to make progress. That means fast-tracking construction of supportive housing, scaling mental health and addiction services, and building workforce re-entry programs that prepare people for good paying jobs. Our goal is clear: help people rebuild their lives while keeping our public spaces safe and welcoming.

Growing Jobs and Building Our Local Economy

A stronger economy comes from making it easier to start, grow, and keep businesses here, from opening the door to the industries of the future. I will champion investments in infrastructure, better roads, faster broadband, clean energy, and workforce training programs that connect people to good jobs. We will actively recruit and grow high-wage sectors like advanced manufacturing, clean technology, and biotech right here in our district. A thriving economy means more choices, better wages, and a stronger tax base for our communities. We can’t have an abundant future without protecting the wages of those who create the abundance.

Healthcare That Works for Everyone

Healthcare should not be a luxury. As we work toward guaranteed healthcare for all, I will push to expand coverage and integrate mental health services into every part of our healthcare system so people get help before crises arise. I will also ensure that medical staff have the resources they need to assist patients, and remove obstacles to care, including excessive bureaucracy. A just society invests in the promotion healthy living, not just treating people when they’re sick.

Local Leadership, Real Results

The best decisions are made closest to the people they affect. I will fight for more local control over budgets, schools, and community priorities; work to make it easier for new cities to incorporate and bring representatives closer to their constituents; and collaborate with anyone who is ready to deliver results. I will support local unions and the right to collectively bargain with employers, to ensure fair wages and benefits for the people who live here. Our region can lead California in innovation, sustainability, and quality of life.

A Future of Possibility

This campaign is about building more of what makes our region great: more housing people can afford, more jobs people can count on, more safety in our streets, better healthcare that covers everyone, and more opportunity for the next generation. Too often we stifle ourselves by mandating inaction through over-regulation. Most of these regulations are necessary, but many of them contradict the very principles we seek to uphold. By embracing innovation, investing in growth, and ensuring the protection of worker’s rights, we can create a Senate District 6 where prosperity is the standard, not the exception.
